Video Appointments
Prompted by COVID-19, Fort Family Practice is now offering virtual care in the form of video-based clinical assessments. This allows us to provide quality care while minimizing the risk of our patients contracting COVID-19 by being in our office.
The video appointments are made possible through Doxy.me, a platform used by doctors across the province for virtual care. With regard to your privacy and security, your information is encrypted and nothing is stored on your or your doctor’s computer. This platform is user-friendly, and is as easy as clicking on your family doctor’s Doxy.me link below. You will need a computer or mobile device equipped with a web camera, and an internet browser compatible with the website.
Before your first virtual care (video) appointment, please complete the following two steps. If you have any difficulties, please call our office at 604-888-2433.
1. Consent: Before we can provide virtual care, we require your consent.
We ask that you complete our online consent form:
Other options for providing consent:
Verbal Consent: Have one of our staff walk you through the consent process over the phone.
Written Consent Form: See the complete written form (you can print this, complete, and get it to our office by email or in person - please call to arrange).
2. Test out the Doxy.me Video Platform
We ask that you try out the Pre-Call test to make sure your camera/microphone are working:
If the link is not working, please click here and click on “doxybot precall test”.
Please join your doctor's waiting room 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment.
We recommend ensuring your physical privacy wherever you choose to have your video visit, that no one will unintentionally overhear your conversation, and that background noise does not interfere with your visit.
