Our COVID-19 Journey

Like all of us, Fort Family Practice has had to rapidly adapt to the challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Our staff and physicians have learnt a few new tricks in order to continue serving patients in this new landscape. Many of these changes have in fact significantly enhanced our abilities compared with what was possible before.

You may for instance have noticed emails from us outlining our attempt to establish electronic links with you as well as requesting your consent to use those links going forward. If you have not received an email, your information with us is not current or we do not have your permission to contact you. Please reach out and we would be happy to get you set up.

Tired of waiting on the phone for service? If so, you may be interested in our new app, Aero Patient. Aero Patient allows you to book and cancel appointments using a smartphone or in some cases, enter information in a succinct form in your own chart as well as upload images or change personal information when appropriate.  This joint authorship we believe will enhance the partnerships at the core of Fort Family Practice values.

Your team is now able to electronically send prescriptions directly to your pharmacy eliminating the use of paper and cutting down infection risk in the process. In a similar vein, lab and imaging requisitions can be sent to your lab of choice even when you are seen via telemedicine.

To comply with provincial guidelines, pre-screening prior to an office visit is in effect.  You will be given directions closer to your appointment, but in general, if we have your mobile phone information, you can expect a text message asking you to enter the building and proceed directly to your assigned examination room when your room is ready.

Please check back from time to time for new developments in our evolving story.

Yours in health!
