Fall at Fort Family Practice

The leaves are changing and the air is feeling crisp. This seasonal change brings new challenges for our patients and our practice.

New Langley COVID-19 Testing Site

Our local testing site has moved to the parking lot at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Appointments are booked online only; the previous phone and fax numbers are no longer in use. The site also accepts patients who walk-in or drive-up, if you are not able manage the online booking system. Please see our COVID-19 Testing page for the complete details on the new Langley site, as well as a locator for other testing sites across the province.

Schools and Daycare

As part of our provincial restart plan, schools opened this September with understandable concern from parents and educators alike. Childcare has remained open through much of the summer. As cold and flu season arrives, many children will exhibit symptoms that may or may not warrant testing and self-isolation. We have summarized this information for you on our COVID-19 and Children page.

Flu Vaccines

We typically receive our annual vaccine supply towards the end of October, and are working hard on the logistics of vaccinating as many of our patients as possible with regard to physical distancing measures. Please visit our main page for flu vaccine clinic updates, details will be posted there once finalized.

Driver’s Medical Exams

RoadSafetyBC has resumed driver medical examination requests. If you have an outstanding request from earlier in the COVID outbreak (March or April, for example) we will prioritize your appointment. Please be mindful of the deadlines RoadSafetyBC sets for you to complete your medical exam.

In-Office Visits

We continue to see more of our patients in person, but we are still conducting initial assessments by phone or video. Please review our In-Office Visit policies if you are offered an in-person assessment by our office.
