Dr. Windy Brown is a local, growing up in Brookswood.  After much travel and various employment (bank teller, nanny, airline check in agent, research assistant, crisis line coordinator), she completed her undergraduate bachelor's degree in psychology and French (SFU) in 1999, a master's degree in psychology (neuroscience) in 2002 (UC Berkeley) and a medical degree at UBC in 2006.  She specialized in family medicine and completed this residency in Victoria, B.C. in 2009.  During her graduate studies she was fortunate to work with many brilliant minds and publish several research articles on hormones and behaviour.  Extra time for research is sparse now that she has a family, but she has managed one publication on IUD insertions since becoming a mom.

She joined Fort Family Practice in 2012, cares for all ages and stages of life, and practices in the office and hospital.

Whenever possible, she sews, hikes, camps, runs, gardens and travels.
